The problem is not limited to festivals. When a tent sits in exposed sun, conventional outer fabrics can absorb solar energy and transfer that heat into the sleeping space. For hot-weather camping, multi-day events and extended outdoor stays, that can make the tent uncomfortable well before the day is over.

The interior can climb above ambient temperature as heat accumulates, reducing comfort when you want to rest or escape the sun.
Blackout alone can block light, but it does not automatically solve the solar heat load hitting the tent.
Cool Shade Pro is built around a simple engineering principle: reduce incoming solar heat at the outer layer, introduce multiple adjustable passive cooling venting channels, then create a darker sleeping environment inside.
The 210D ripstop polyester outer uses an aluminised PET reflective film to reduce incoming solar heat before it can be absorbed by the shelter.
Multiple adjustable passive ventilation channels are engineered into the tent to support airflow without powered cooling. The final vent design also uses permanent mesh and baffled routing to maintain ventilation while reducing direct rain and light entry.
True Blackout is built into the sleeping environment so light control works alongside heat rejection and ventilation, rather than being treated as the only solution.
At Art Valley in June 2026, Cool Shade Pro was tested with three probes: one inside Cool Shade Pro, one inside a comparable reference tent and one ambient-air control.
Cool Shade Pro is not a festival-only tent. It is a premium four-person instant-up shelter for hot-weather camping, festivals, multi-day events and extended outdoor stays. The product is deliberately over-specified where it matters, with high-denier fabrics, a heavy-duty floor, quality hardware and a substantial automatic frame designed for repeated use.

The core design and specification are now largely locked. Cool Shade Pro is in final pre-production refinement, with remaining work focused on manufacturing details, quality control, branding, instructions and approval of the production reference sample.
The current target is late 2026. Final timing will depend on production, quality control and freight.
In the Winter Art Valley June 2026 field test, the prototype averaged 4.4°C cooler than the reference tent across daylight periods and 5.9°C cooler during the key 9am–3pm sleep window. That is one real-world test, not a guarantee of a fixed temperature difference in every environment.
Cool Shade Pro is a passive system. The reflective outer is designed to reduce incoming solar heat at the fundamental radiation level, while multiple adjustable ventilation channels with advanced baffle technology support natural airflow through the tent. Rather than using powered fans to pull hot outside air into the sleeping space, the system takes advantage of the cooler microclimate that can exist near ground level and natural convection, drawing air through lower ventilation points while warmer air rises and escapes through upper vents. The blackout sleeping environment also helps control light. There is no compressor, battery or powered air-conditioning system.
No. Festivals are an important use case because daytime sleep and exposed campsites make heat especially noticeable, but Cool Shade Pro is designed as a premium hot-weather camping shelter for regular camping, multi-day events and extended outdoor stays as well.
The current production specification includes a 210D ripstop polyester reflective outer with PU 4000–5000 mm waterproofing and aluminised vapour mirror-finish coating, a 210D breathable Oxford inner, a 600D PVC-backed seam-taped floor with reinforced corners, SBS zips and a 600D PVC-backed carry bag.
Premium gunmetal hardware, a dedicated power-entry port with internal cable management, hanging hooks and carabiner points, two large internal storage pockets, and vestibule poles that extend the reflective outer into a shaded outdoor living area. The baffled ventilation system creates up to six 90° turns between the exterior and interior, helping block direct light and wind-driven rain while maintaining airflow. Pre-assembled guy ropes also include integrated Velcro wraps for fast, tidy pack-down.
